About the Community Hospitals Association

The Community Hospitals Association (CHA) is an independent voluntary organisation.  The CHA was established over 50 years ago and is a unique voice for community hospitals - their services, staff, patients and communities.  The CHA is a membership organisation which supports community hospitals in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We are dedicated to sharing knowledge and experience on the role, function and potential of community hospitals. We also share information throughout our networks on the contribution that community hospital services make to the health and wellbeing of patients and communities.  We have a growing membership, and we are committed to supporting all those concerned with their community hospitals.

Support the CHA – Ensuring a strong future for Community Hospitals

Community hospitals are a vital part of local healthcare, providing essential care close to home. Behind the scenes, the Community Hospitals Association works tirelessly to support, connect and champion these services. But we can’t do it without your help.

Why Your Support Matters

The CHA is an independent, volunteer-led organisation. Every year, we:

  • Bring together healthcare professionals from across the UK through networking events, special interest groups and our annual National Conference.

  • Track and share best practice, ensuring that innovations in care and service delivery reach those who need them most.

  • Advocate for community hospitals, engaging with policymakers, NHS leaders and research bodies to highlight the role these hospitals play.

  • Provide resources and research, helping those working in and with community hospitals stay informed and supported.

This work requires ongoing funding. Unlike many organisations, we receive no central funding or grants – we rely on membership, sponsorship and donations to keep going.

How Your Donation Helps

Your contribution enables us to:

  • Maintain and expand our free resources for healthcare teams.

  • Fund research into innovation and improvement in community hospital care.

  • Deliver our annual conference, which brings together healthcare professionals to share knowledge and build connections.

  • Continue our work in advocacy and policy, ensuring the vital role of community hospitals is recognised and supported at national level.

Every donation – large or small – makes a difference. With your support, we can continue to strengthen the community hospital network and ensure these invaluable services thrive.

Thank you for supporting the CHA.
